Dóra Drexler

My aim for the future is to take actively part in the Hungarian andinternational landscape planning and research as well as in the high qualityeducation of these disciplines. It is very important for me to permanentlybroaden the range of my knowledge, to publish the results of my research and tohold lectures on professional conferences. I would like to realize my aims as aPh.D. student. In June 2004 I have gained admission to the Ph.D. School forLandscape Architecture at the Corvinus University of Budapest. Prof. Dr. LudwigTrepl also invited me to the Department of Landscape Ecology of the TechnicalUniversity of Munich for Ph.D. studies. I would like to acquire the Ph.D. degreeas a student of both institutes, through a cooperation contract of theuniversities. My research topic is the analysis of the correlations betweenlandscape perceptions and actual landscape development tendencies in differentEuropean countries.

I got to know about weak-link studies and the Link Group from PeterCsermely in October 2004. The participation in the research of the group, especially considering the role of scale-free distribution in landscapeperceptions and aesthetics, provides a great opportunity for me to widen thescope of my Ph.D. thesis and to examine landscapes from a very new and uniquenatural scientific point of view.
